Steve Edwards
Steve's style is a hybrid of his love for all things Organic & Electronica, a style he calls 'Organica' which is like having Lennon / Marley & Costello playing in a Clash tribute band then going to the aftershow with Daft Punk on the decks, Marvin Gaye & Nina Simone behind the bar with Prince & OutKast scuffling outside the door trying to get in. His solo activities are under the name of Steve Edwards & The Big Strong Love which is a live band of talented friends who share Steve's vision with strictly no sessioners allowed & he wants everyone who believes in love, justice, passion & the truth to be part of The Big Strong Love which connects us all, apparently. Colab: Steve has always enjoyed collaborations & has worked with the likes of Basement Jaxx, Axwell, Cassius, Michael Gray & currently Reverend & The Makers guesting on their single Open Your Window. His most recent work has been writing the outstanding global smash & now true classic ‘protest house anthem’ World, Hold On for Bob Sinclar & he's followed that up with the forthcoming single 'Together' which Steve also wrote for Monsieur Sinclar which looks set to rock the world once again. Like a rabble rouser from the town hall steps Steve’s message is clear “give the kids a chance or you will reap what you sow” Side Proj: Steve always seem to have more ideas than is good for him so he's directed some of this extra ADHD like energy into a project with some mates from Sheffield known as 'Lords Of Flatbush'. The main actors are Steve Edwards, Phil Jones, Nicky B & Rob Nicholson. They play a style they call Two-Tone Jaxx & their MO is simply to have a good time, make you sway & your ears bleed. Look out for a forthcoming mash up with Seamus Hagi called 24 Hours. They will be going out as a live outfit in 2008 along with their Flatbush Sound System.
